WHAT IS THUNDERCAT ORG?
Thundercat org is a project that aims to develop apps for the Xian network ecosystem integrated with Telegram.

THESIS:
Telegram is the largest chat app with a MAU of 1 billion. In 2023, Telegram introduced Telegram mini apps, allowing developers to integrate web apps into Telegram. Telegram has also integrated a Ton wallet into the Telegram app, making it possible for crypto users to transact within the chat app and chat without leaving the app. With these user experience improvements, projects like the Notcoin tap game have been able to achieve hundreds of millions of users. We believe that the simplicity of Xian and its core selling point (the ability to write efficient smart contracts in Python) could gain mass adoption by integrating Telegram web apps into the ecosystem. We are working on using the Xian Telegram wallet in our web app so users can connect their wallet with a click of a button that takes them to Telegram and back to our app. We have so far created a Telegram tap game with a referral system. We are working on features that would allow our users to interact positively with Xian on other social networks such as Twitter (post, reply, repost), perform tasks such as 1. download Xian extension wallet and create a wallet, 2. download Xian mobile wallet, 3. chat in Xian-related group chats, and earn from a weekly reward pool.
We understand that the best way to onboard users into the ecosystem is by rewarding participation with tradable rewards. This will motivate users to learn more about the ecosystem to earn more. With this in mind, we plan to launch the Thundercat token exactly 7 days after the app has gone live and allow users to withdraw their earned rewards every 7 days after the last withdrawal.

TEST APP:
Interested DAO members can test out the app on the testnet to view our progress.

We would be grateful for all feedback (positive and negative) and would work on improving the project to your taste. Please note that the app is currently being served on ngrok, and ngrok has a limit of 120 requests per minute.

FUNDING AMOUNT REQUEST:
We are requesting a total grant amount of 300,000 Xian and 500 xUSDC. 300,000 will be used partly to seed a liquidity pool for our token and keep a small treasury (to run other activities to support the network), while 500 xUSDC will be used to cover app expenses like server costs, web costs, etc

TRANSPARENCY:
Grant wallets will be publicly labelled on-chain, and expenses will be disclosed to the community (at a bare minimum). The app will go live within 2 days after the funding request has been approved and sent.

Hey, first of all, thank you for wanting to develop a TG mini-app and integrate with Xian Network! We appreciate it but there are three main issues I see with this proposal:

  1. For me personaly, I’m not a friend of granting funds to a project that didn’t yet develop the product. I do recognize that you have a TG mini app already but what I see right now is this:

    Which doesn’t show me much. But even if you would show direct content, I believe you didn’t yet integrate your app with the Xian blockchain. So you could in theory be someone that created a raw and general mini-app and now you are sending funding requests to all kinds of blockchains just to receive funding.

Please don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying you do that, but I am saying that you could be doing that and there is no way for me to verify that you genuinly want to build something on Xian. We are happy to grant you funds AFTER the product is fully built but probably not before.
So that means you’d need to first integrate with Xian and produce a mini-app that is working and then we can talk about funding. If it’s important for you to know beforehand what you will receive in terms of funding then give us more details about what exactly you want to build and which capabilities it will have and then we can agree on XIAN funds that you will receive after you have done the work.

  1. This is an even more important topic: Telegram mini-apps that integrate with any other blockchain than TON are not allowed on Telegram. So we can’t legaly have a mini-app that acts as a wallet for example or offers a Xian integrating for a tapping game.

  2. 300k XIAN and $500 is a lot of funds. Especially given that we didn’t see any finished product yet, it might be hard to convince the DAO to give you these funds. Also, we have a bounty program that shows you what we are willing to pay for products we need and if you take a look there, you will see that you are requesting for example more than half the funds that we are willing to pay for a prediction marketplace: Xian Bounty Program: Build the Future | Xian Network. So I feel like the funds you are requesting for developing a TG min-app are a bit too high.

Given these three points, I suggest the following: If you really want to work and integrate with the Xian Network then please come up with a solid concept that makes sense and provides some kind of value for Xian and justifies receiving funds before the product is built OR build your Xian-related product first and then provide it to the community for testing and then we can talk seriously about DAO funds.

I also need to add: If the DAO grants funds then we never payout the full amount directly but over time - except if it is needed for the project like for example when you are building an argitrage bot that needs funds for trading etc.

Thank you for taking the time to think about our proposal. Your concerns are valid. I will address them as follows:

  1. Think I ran into an issue, which caused ngrok to not serve the app (perhaps the reason was because i had tried to reuse the url to test another app).

  2. Telegram mini-apps can be built for other chains too. The walk-around is to make your users connect to the ton wallet. Telegram does not have an issue with building an app for another chain unless accepts payments in those coins. Payments can only be taken on telegram through stars or ton (not sure about this).

  3. I understand that the request is too high. The request has been reduced to 250 xUSDc and 143,000 Xian. Ultimately it is left to the DAO to decide how much to grant. I will update the amount immediately.
    I and my team agree on unlocking the grant on a milestone base or whichever method the DAO decides on. Also, about how to be sure if we (my team and I) are not lying about building on Xian or not. The answer to that would be, there’s no legal agreement in place so any text written would read like a pinky promise but personally I have been a fan of the ecosystem before it launched officially (used to play the captcha game), I belief in the simplicity of the project and ultimately I want to help create some value.

The app has finally been deployed. Deploying took a little more than I had expected.

The project can be viewed on Telegram: Launch @thundercatorgbot . You will notice that the website has not been deployed. Please bear with me. It will be up in a few days at most 3.

Now that the project has been deployed and officially started, I will be in contact with the team to explore how to use telegram effectively to connect Xian and bring mass adoption.
